Ashburton!

 

One of the things I did in the holidays was go to Ashburton to see my family friends. We stay with them on there farm every year. We stay for 3-4 weeks after christmas. When the big flooding happened some of there farm got destroyed. This year has been a clean-up and it has been still very fun to spend time with them.

Jump Jam Nationals 2021!

 

We had our 2021 Jump Jam Nationals. We had a great experience competiing. We left Cashmere High School with an amazing result. If you read the blog post you may find the answer to why we had an amazing result!

Kia Ora today for my blog post I decided to show you one thing that I learn in French Class. We got an option of Japanese,  Spanish or French and I chose French. I really enjoy learning French I will make sure to show you more of the things |I learn in French

Random Act of Kindness Day

 

Kia Ora as you may already know today is Random Act of Kindness Day. So what that means is that everyone does something kind to help around the house, take your pet for a walk or even just give your caregiver a hug. Today I took my dog on a extra long walk and I also cooked dinner for my whole family. What did you do for Random Act of Kindness Day?

Pobble 365

 

Kia Ora this is my first activity from home because of lockdown.

I created this story of Pobble 365. So first I got the Story Starter then I added onto the story. This is what I came up with. I will be creating more blog posts throughout Lockdown, and hopefully Covid-19 will be over soon.

The Olympics

Kia Ora for this blog post it is all about the Olympics because as you know the Olympics has started all the way over in Tokyo. New Zealand on Monday have already won a bronze medal by Hayden Wilde which is amazing. Make sure to check out the blog post. Do you know anything about the Olympics?

My Problem Solving

 

For the past 3 weeks we have been creating a Digital Learning Object (DLO). For this we had 5 different strategies to use and 4 different steps. I created it on Powtoon. I hope you like it.

Kia Ora today for reading. My task was to create an acrostic poem about refugees.  So for this activity this is my 4 activity and soon I will be posting about another reading activity I will be creating. World War 1 (WW1)

This week for reading my group which is Kereru had to learn about World War 1, which I love learning about. I love it because it is very fascinating because of all the diares and photos and lots of other stuff like that.

I think next week we are learning about World War 2 I am not sure but hopefully we are.
 

Simplified Fractions

 Kia Ora, This week for Maths I moved up to a higher group and this week we had to do a prototec everyday. Then we had to work through a few videos and practices. We also then had to show some of our working on a google drawing, google doc or google slide. I can't wait to show you some more math.

Did you feel any Emotion?

 My legs shake. My hands shake. I see the dark, cold, room. I gloomily walk in and see my dog helplessly lying there. On a cold metal surgical table. I feel a lump in my throat as if there is a metal ball rolling around. I smell the dusty musty air. I start  saying goodbye to Borris. I say sorry for all the mean things I have said. I see the pain in Borris’s eyes. I pat him. I think back to the first day we met. The feeling of my sole shrinking and turning hollow gets worse. I  begin losing hope. The pain starts to grow. Memories start to come back. I wish that we could play fetch, just one more time. While I whisper “don't die,  Please don't die” He starts to close his eyes. My tears start to bubble up in my eyes. I can’t take it any more, I have to let it out, so I do. I wonder, when Borris goes to heaven will he see his dead mum again?I then look over. The nurse comes in with a needle and says “it's time,” She starts to inject him, but he jumps up and starts dancing and singing. How did he do that? I wonder. “Are you sure he is sick?” The nurse said. “I think he is ok, it’s a miracle” Next thing I know Borris is flat on the floor as dead as a rock. 

Kia Ora, This week for writing our learning intention has been to deepen our understanding of descriptive language by creating feelings for our reader, such as empathy. We also looked into the effects of short sentences. First we watched a short clip of Marley and Me but it made few people cry. We then buddied up and created a short descriptive piece of writing. As you can see my buddy created the last piece of writing and she came up with the dog name which is Borris. What do you think I should write next.

A thing to use in Math

 

Kia Ora for 1 of my maths task this week my group had to watch a few videos and had a few practices at working out some, of the equations that we got given.

Tomorrow I am going to create another task but it will be about a different way to work out different math equations.

Autumn Learning Journey 3-2 Making Sushi!!!

 

Today for lunch I decided to make some sushi. I got the idea because 2 weeks ago at Breens (where we go to tech) I made sushi in my cooking class.Next term instead of cooking class I am doing Digital Technology. This week for Reading we were reading about Helen Keller. For this week I decided to share my learning on a google slide. Next week I will share my learning on a google drawing. 

Sailing!!

 

Last week we had a sailing trip. We learn't a lot about what parts go where and what the pieces of equiptment are. We got all geared up with our wet suits and our life jackets on. We had an amazing time at sailing and I can't wait to go back.

Camp!!!!

 

2 weeks ago went went to Hanmer Springs Forest Camp. It was of course a highlight of my 7 years at Belfast School but at least I still have 1 more year well basically 2. The 4 activites we did were, Tree Climbing, Mountain Biking, Orienteering and Misson Impossible. Oh wait and I can't forget about the hot pools. I had an amazing time it was a really big highlight  

Ordering decimals

We have also started doing maths collaboratively and this week for maths I decided to show my learning as a screencastify. For our learning this week we have been learning how to order decimals. I wonder what we are going to learn about next week.

 

Anne Frank

 For reading we do it collabroitively through out the syndicate and we started reading last week. I am in a group called kereu which is a bird. For our reading this week we are reading about Anne Frank. We basically had to read a text about her and what happened Sunday afternoon, also how she hid away.In my slide show it tells you some facts and other things about her. I really enjoyed reading about Anne Frank it is very interesting. 

The Wayfinder

Our Story Telling for this term is The wayfinder it is about a boy called Manu, his brother, his father and his tribe. His island gets to small and they have to sail in the ocean to find a new one, but he starts to run out of food and water. This is my characterisation of Manu that my friend Caitlin drew. This is some of the details that I gave her  Blue eyes, tan skin, scar on the right side of his face, shorts, muscular arms and lots of other descriptive words. I think she did a great job and I think it's  fabulous!.  

We had lots of fun making this I also made one for my friend too and this is what it looked like.

What is a rainforest?

 This is my first week of doing reading and I am in a group called Kereru. For our first activity this week and some of last week we had to read a book about What are Rainforest?. Then we had to write 2 paragraphs about what we just read and then we had to make it look pretty and add pictures. So I decided to do it on a google drawing.

My Split Face Portrait

 Kia Ora in the first week of our new class we started our Split Face Portraits. So what we had to do is on 1 side we shaded and blended with pencil and then on the other side we had to do our hobbies and what we like to do, or even what our favourite food is. Up the top of my ocean (hair) I put a netball hoop and a netball ball because my favourite sport is Netball. I did in a love heart my family because I love my family and I also did animals.
